Press Releases

We regularly publish press releases about work and research of the Federal Archives. These are published in German language only.

Filming in the Federal Archives

Filming and photo recordings are possible at the Federal Archives' locations if they are connected to the use of archive material from the Federal Archives or the presentation of work areas. The rules of the Federal Archives Act, the Stasi Records Act and the Federal Data Protection Act apply. Early arrangements for recordings are possible, as filming must always be accompanied by employees of the institution.

Filming permits are not issued for commercial film projects in which the federal agency’s premises serve as the backdrop to subjects unrelated to its work.
